Wer bin ich? * Who am I?

Assalamu aleikum,

Mein Pferd allahumma baarik und ich * my horse and I

einige Fragen bekomme ich von euch öfter gestellt, hier möchte ich nun ein paar beantworten. Bitte habt Verständnis dafür, dass ich nicht auf jede Frage antworte oder ins Detail gehe - auch ich lege Wert auf meine Privatsphäre;-) Vielleicht ändern sich meine Meinungen mit der Zeit, aber das ist zumindest der aktuelle Stand. 

Sometimes I get some questions from you more often, here I would like to answer a few of it. Please understand that I do not answer every question or go into detail - I also value my privacy ;-) Maybe my opinions will change over time, but that is at least the current status now. Wann bist du konvertiert, und seit wann trägst du Hijab? 
Ich bin aus voller Überzeugung zum Islam konvertiert, als ich 16 Jahre alt war. Fast zeitgleich habe ich dann auch angefangen, Hijab zu tragen. 

Wie lange hast du dein Pferd schon? 
Ich habe mein Pferd alhamdulillah seit fast 10 Jahren, ich sage immer mein Pferd war der beste Reitlehrer den ich je hatte;-)

Wie und wo hast du reiten gelernt? 
Ich saß schon als kleines Kind auf dem Pferd, richtig angefangen habe ich mit sechs Jahren. Von da an bin ich sechs Jahre lang in verschiedenen Reitschulen geritten, Englisch und Western. Als ich dann mein eigenes Pferd bekam, habe ich die ersten Jahre noch Unterricht von verschiedenen Reitlehrern und Trainern bekommen. Ansonsten mein Motto: Learning by doing!

Wo wohnst du? 
In Deutschland, zurzeit in NRW. Ich habe aber auch schon in anderen Bundesländern gelebt, und mal schauen wo die Reise noch hingeht. Hauptsache das Pferd kommt mit:-) 

Wie kamst du auf die Idee, einen Blog zu erstellen? 
Ich glaube, mein Mann hatte die Idee. Ich habe mir sehr eine muslimische Freundin gewünscht, mit der ich mich über mein Hobby austauschen kann. Auch wollte ich wissen, ob es noch andere reitende Muslimas gibt und meine Tipps und Erfahrungen weitergeben. So kam die Idee zum Blog. 


Warum zeigst du keine Gesichter auf den Fotos? 
Ich beziehe meine Bilder teilweise aus dem Internet und bearbeite sie. Teils habe ich die Bilder aber auch selber gemacht. Grundsätzlich möchte ich ungerne Fotos von mir oder anderen Schwestern veröffentlichen, auf denen man klar erkennbar ist. Auch wenn ich selber Hijab und kein Niqab trage, ist es trotzdem nicht der Sinn des Hijab, sich hübsch und öffentlich auf Fotos zu präsentieren, gerade im Internet weiß man nie wer so unterwegs ist und sich die Fotos anguckt. Ich möchte auf Nummer sicher gehen. 

Möchtest du auswandern, nimmst du dein Pferd dann mit?
Es sollte das Ziel eines jeden Muslims sein, in einem islamischen Land zu leben. Auch ich wünsche mir, dass es eines Tages soweit ist, da ich mich in meiner Heimat Deutschland einfach nicht mehr wohlfühle. Grundsätzlich habe ich schon geplant, mein Pferd mitzunehmen, aber das kommt auch auf die Zeit und das Land dann später an. Darüber mache ich mir Gedanken, wenn es soweit ist und werde euch selbstverständlich daran teilhaben lassen in shaa Allah.

When did you convert and how long have you been wearing hijab?
I converted to Islam through my own conviction when I was 16 years old. I started wearing hijab almost at the same time.


How long do you own your horse?
I have had my horse alhamdulillah for almost 10 years, I always say that my horse was the best riding instructor I have ever had ;-)


How and where did you learn to ride?
The first time on horseback was when I was a small child, I really started to learn riding when I was six years old. From then on I rode in different riding schools for six years, both English and Western style. When I got my own horse, I got lessons from various riding instructors and trainers for the first few years. Otherwise is my motto: Learning by doing!


Where do you live?
Currently in Germany and we will see where the journey  will lead in the future. The important thing is that the horse comes with us :-)



How did you get the idea to create a blog?
I think my husband got the idea. I wanted a Muslim friend with whom I can talk about my favourite hobby - horses. I also wanted to know if there are other riding Muslims and share my tips and experiences. So the idea came to the blog.




Why don't you show faces in the photos?
I get some of my pictures from the Internet and edit them. Sometimes I took the pictures myself. Basically, I don't want to publish photos of myself or other sisters that clearly identify you. Even if I wear a hijab myself and not a niqab, it is still not the purpose of the hijab to present yourself beautifully and publicly in photos, especially on the Internet where everybody can take a look. I want to play it safe.


Do you want to emigrate, do you take your horse with you?
It should be the goal of every Muslim to live in an Islamic society. I also hope that one day it will happen because I just don't feel comfortable in my home country Germany. Basically, I have already planned to take my horse with me, but that also depends on the time and the country where we will go... I will keep you in the loop in shaa Allah.
